Coop Housing

Woodbury School of Architecture

Instructor: Thomas Valle Stallman

Arch 301 | Fall 2020

Site Location: Venice, California

This housing project started with the study of the Leafcutter Bees Nest and how it is made and formed along with the material study of Bamboo. After careful analysis of interior and exterior of the Bamboo form, the material was used to recreate how Leafcutters Bees Nests were made and occupied. After a 3d Model was formed with this study information, the model was used as a module into creating an housing complex as a whole. The modules were attached and stacked together through a specific method and as a whole creates a open air circulation throughout the structure with platforms connecting them all into one space.
